From February until mid-march, many professional teams will visit the Complex Esportiu Futbol Salou to prepare for the preseason at the Costa Daurada. They enjoy the good weather and during their stage they stay at Cambrils Park Sport Village facilities. Many of the teams coincide during their stay, which is why they organize friendly matches against other international teams, and also teams from the Tarragona area. In addition, these games can be refereed by referees federated by the Catalan Football Federation.
So, the week in which January ended and February began, three international matches were held. On Wednesday, January 31st, a friendly match was played between Jönköping Södra IF, Superettan team (the Second Division of Sweden) last season played in the Allsvenskan (the First Division of the country); against CF Reus. The local team won the game by 3 goals to 1, in a game that was good for training for La Liga 123
On Thursday February the 1st, it was Asia´s turn. The continent has been present at the Complex Esportiu Futbol Salou with two professional women's football teams: BG Phoenix FC, from China; against the Hyundai Steel Red Angels, of South Korea. The women’s team from Korea is the current female league champion of the country, title that they have achieved for 5 consecutive years. The South Korean team won by 2 goals to 1 to the Chinese team.
On Saturday February 3rd, it was the turn of GIF Sundsvall, which belongs to the Allsvenskan, against Helsingborgs IF, a team that went down to Superettan this season 2017 after having finished in 14th place. The game was favorable to the second division, who won by 1 goal to 0.
In addition, as of today, IFK Goteborg will also be staying at Cambrils Park Sport Village facilities. L'IFK is the most successful club, together with Malmö FF, from Sweden. In addition, it´s the only Scandinavian team to win the UEFA Cup in 1982 and 1987. It currently leads the historical classification of Sweden's first league, where it has played since 1977.
