Complex Esportiu Futbol Salou continues with the implementation of its improvements. After the Urban Planning Commission passed the project, the construction of the 2019 new developments has started. The star of this extension is the Miniestadi, which will have official dimension according to FIFA, covered stands to follow the games and a capacity of 1.000 people. The pitch will be of natural grass and will host professional and national teams’ games as well as big events.
With the construction of the Miniestadi the goal is to fully meet the needs and demands of the professional and semiprofessional teams that visit the facilities. This way, CE Futbol Salou significantly complements its services. It will include all the amenities for the players, such as changing rooms and the multipurpose rooms which will give more privacy to the teams. It will also include a special gallery from where the games will be broadcasted.
In addition, the works to create a training area, which will be divided in three smaller zones, have started as well. On the one hand, it will have a 7-a-side football pitch, that can be transformed into two 5-a-side football pitches, where the players will be able to play and train. There will also be an international dimension beach football pitch for training as well as for recovering from injuries. The last part will have a turf goalkeeper’s training area where players will be able to work on different techniques on a simulated double area field.
These improvements passed by the Urban Planning Commission will complement the first multipurpose rugby and football artificial turf pitch, two artificial turf 11-a-side football pitches and the bar’s extension work; new additions opened earlier this 2018 year.
The benefits of the improvements will not only have an impact on the companies that manage it. The arrival, at Salou, of well-known professional teams to practice sports, will result into an important promotion of the area and into the consolidation of Sport tourism. At the same time, it will help in making tourism less seasonal and will work out well for local business.
